Wilbert A. Crosby is a Chicago-based guitarist, producer, arranger, and music educator whose work moves naturally through blues, gospel, jazz, soul, and R&B.
From touring South Africa with Pops Staples in 1982, to serving as Mavis Staples’ musical director for 15 years from 1990 to 2005, to touring as lead guitarist for Aretha Franklin, performing with Tito Jackson, and recording for Jennifer Hudson’s Respect, Wilbert brings musical depth, discipline, and generosity to every room.

Served as musical director for gospel and soul icon Mavis Staples for 15 years. Wilbert appeared on her 2004 album Have a Little Faith, her first Grammy-recognized CD, and played guitar on “I Still Believe in You,” used by the Boston Red Sox as a team theme during their historic 2004 World Series championship run.
